HyTest anti-nucloprotein antibodies expected to detect both UK and South African variants of SARS-CoV-2 3CV4 Anti-Nucleoprotein MAbs
UK variant of SARS-CoV-2 (known as VOC 202012/01, lineage B.1.1.7, or
20B/501Y.V1) has two mutations in the nucleoprotein: D3L and S235F. We
have mapped the epitope specificities of our key anti-SC-NP clones C518,
C524, C706, C715 and NP1527 to be in the region of N47-A173. The UK
mutations are thus outside the epitope region of these clones. It is
expected that at least the above listed five clones will be able to
detect the UK variant too. The South African variant of SARS-CoV-2
(known as 501.V2, 20C/501Y.V2 or B.1.351 lineage) does not have any
mutations in its nuceloprotein and should be detected by all our
3CV2 Anti-Spike MAbs
UK variant has deletions and mutations within the spike protein, one of
which is within the RBD part of the protein (N501Y). Our anti-spike
MAbs are specific to RBD region and we are currently investigating the
effect of this mutation to the specificity of these antibodies.
New MAbs available
We are pleased to let you know that we now have the first four anti-nucleoprotein antibodies available in their final forms: C518, C525, C706 and C715. These products will replace NP1518, NP1525, NP3706 and NP3715 respectively. The replaced products were produced in vivo or were only available as R&D samples until now. Best pairs in lateral flow: If you are developing a lateral flow -based test, we recommend you start with these three capture-detection pairs: C715-C706, C706-NP1524 and C706-C518. These three pairs can detect the antigen with 1:20,000 dilution of virus lysate (see Figure).
