In our latest article HyTest researchers continued to study the prognostic value of insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4 (IGFBP-4) fragments in cardiac related diseases. The goal of the study was to assess the carboxy-terminal fragment (CT-IGFBP4) for the prognosis of outcomes of patients with acute heart failure.

The study showed that CT-IGFBP-4 was independently associated with all-cause mortality in patients with acute heart failure. Compared with single biomarkers, the combination of CT-IGFBP-4, NT-proBNP, and CRP improved the prediction of all-cause mortality in these patients.
