Thermus aquaticus (Taq) DNA polymerase, Taq Red
Cat.# 7TR1
Description:
Taq Red DNA polymerase is a thermostable 94 kDa DNA polymerase purified from E. coli PVG-AI recombinant strain expressing Thermus aquaticus polymerase gene.
Enzyme catalyses polymerisation of nucleotides into duplex DNA in the 5'-3' direction in presence of Mg++ ions. Enzyme is stained in red. Stain facilitates the visual control of mixing the enzyme with other components in reaction. Stain doesn't influence on enzymatic activity of polymerase and other general characteristics.
Storage and dilution buffer:
20 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.0, 100 mM KCl, 0.1 mM EDTA, 1 mM DTT, 50 % glycerol, 0.5 % Nonidet P-40, 0.5 % Tween-20.
Unit definition:
One unit of activity is the amount of enzyme required to incorporate 10 nmoles of dNTP into acid-insoluble material in 30 minutes at 72 oC.
Amplification buffer 10x:
166 mM (NH4)2SO4, 670 mM Tris-HCl, pH 8.8 at 25 °C, 0.1 % Tween 20.
Applications:
PCR, DNA sequencing, primer extension.
Quality control:
Activity, SDS-PAGE purity, absence of endonucleases/nickases and exonucleases.
Concentration:
5 units/µl
Storage:
-20 °C
