C-reactive protein (CRP), human

Source:
Human pleural/ascitic fluid or plasma. Blood sample from the tissue donor was tested and found negative for HBsAg, HIV-1 and HIV-2 antibodies, and HCV.

Application:
CRP is elevated in the cases of acute inflammatory conditions: bacterial and viral infections, rheumatoid arthritis, and many collagen diseases. CRP can be also used for screening and monitoring of acute myocardial infarction, tissue injury and some malignant disorders. CRP is suitable as immunogen for antisera production, tracer for iodination and standard for
immunoassay.

Analysis:
Purity > 95 % (SDS-PAGE).

Activity:
Immunological activity is determined by reaction with CRP-specific monoclonal antibodies.

Presentation:
20 mM Tris, pH 8.0, 0.3 M NaCl, 0.05 % sodium azide (NaN3).

Storage:
+ 4 °C

Material safety note:
Contains sodium azide (0.05 %) as preservative. Although the amount of sodium azide is very small appropriate care must be taken when handling this product.
